Green Tea + Chia Seed Flush

By Well-Girl on December 27, 2012 in Beverages, Recipes with No Comments

I found this on IG a couple of days ago and gave it a try last night after buying some lemon and ginger at the store yesterday.

I modified it a bit – leaving out the 1 tsp of honey & a dash of cayenne pepper but you can most definitely add the two if you want.

Here’s what is needed for the drink:

  • A green tea bag steeped in a mug of hot water
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp thinly sliced ginger
  • juice from 1/3-1/2 of a lemon
A cure for over eating during the holidays to help with bloat and indigestion.  Consume 3-4 servings in one day or one serving everyday.

I ate the ginger & the chia seeds – but I don’t think you have to eat the ginger. ;)

I drank one ‘flush mug’ last night and plan to drink 3 servings today and  than go back to one serving each day after today.

Oh and check out my AWESOME finds from the 99 cent store yesterday! In a regular grocery store each one  of these items could cost $3-5 each so I really consider my trip there to be a SUCCESS!!  I really do need to go there more often! :) ;) They had my favorite Mrs. Dash seasoning in Fiesta Lime & Extra Spicy and after seeing seeing Planter’s NUT-rition on several other blogs I’ve been meaning to give them a try and am excited to try them out now! :)

A quick glimpse of Christmas 2012 :)

Christmas Eve

Before attending church on Christmas Eve, we decided to have lunch at River City Brewery. I ordered their ABC Sandwich - on focacia bread with sliced turkey breast, avocado, bacon, tomato, white cheddar, pesto aioli, and onions, served with vegetable pasta salad. Unfortunately, it looked and sounds better than it tastes, it was just okay to me.

Isn’t she lovely? :)

Man, I love these two!! :)

After church, we cruised around and enjoying looking at the Christmas lights in a nearby neighborhood than we ended the evening with a movie at home and a bottle of champagne.

Christmas Day

We spent the day at my parent’s house and my mom made an amazingly delicious brunch for all of us, which consisted of beans, potatoes, tamales, salsa, chili verde and eggs – it really couldn’t get any better than that! :)

Mila enjoyed opening all her presents at Grandma & Grandpa’s …I think this one was her favorite, though! :)

Question: What was your favorite dish from Christmas?

1st video blog, drink your belly bloat away & a give-away

Good morning friends and Happy Friday to you!! :)

Yesterday, I made a trip to Costco to restock our kitchen and I recorded my first video blog about my staples and finds from Costco. I hope you enjoy it and keep in mind this is my 1st video! ;)

*************
Lunch & dinner yesterday was a salad with leftover enchilada eggplant bake and grapes that my mother-in-law sent home with us.  I really do love having left overs for the next day, especially when the dish is this tasty! :)

I was searching the internet yesterday for help to get rid of my belly bloat from my recent mini vaca ;) and found this article on Dr. Oz’s website.  Since I had no fresh peppermint, I had to get a little creative and add my own little spin to it! ;)

Try his recipe or my version of it to drink your belly bloat away.

  • 1 lemon
  • 1 sliced cucumber
  • 1 peppermint tea bag
Steep tea bag for a few minutes and add to water with the remaining ingredients.  Allow drink to sit overnight.
I doubled the recipe to make enough for all 3 of my bottles! :)

Peppermint improves the flow of bile to digest fats better. As a diuretic, lemon helps to flush undesirable bacteria and toxins out of the body while eliminating water weight.  Cucumber also helps rid your body of the toxins that have accumulated.  An added bonus to drinking this water…healthy glowing skin from the high amount of vitamin C in the lemon, yaaaayy! :)  I’m drinking all 3 bottles throughout today and will probably make this water for the next week or at least the next few days.

And lastly… I’m doing my first giveaway!!! :)  All you have to do is share my facebook page with your friends. The 500th friend ‘like’ AND the friend that shared my page with the 500th friend will both receive this snack pack!! :)

Question:  What are your plans for the weekend?

XOXO,

Angel
