Welcome to Well-Girl! My name is Angelica but you can call me Angel.
Welcome to Well-Girl! My name is Angelica but you can call me Angel. Inspired by my love & passion for health and fitness, I started this blog. Along with my focus on health and fitness, my blog will follow me on my daily adventures with my family as a wife and new mom and my guilty pleasure of…shopping.

So, who am I???
At the young age of 30 ;0) I am a wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend, certified AFPA personal trainer and nutrition & wellness consultant.
My family & I reside in sunny California.
In the summer of 2002, I met my amazing husband, Mauricio. We hit it off so well that we went on our first date two days after we met and have been inseparable since then. We got married four years later, on June 10, 2006.

Last year, we received the most remarkable news that I was pregnant just a few days before celebrating our 5th year wedding anniversary.

In case you were curious, I gained almost 50 pounds during my pregnancy.

On January 7, 2012, our beautiful daughter, Mila was born and what a blessing she is! She is my daily inspiration for why I strive to maintain a healthy lifestyle and hope to help others along the way.

I am also a mommy to a 4 year old fur baby, named Bella. Currently Bella rules the house but I am willing to bet there will be a battle for that crown once Mila gets a little older!

I recently resigned from my corporate job to be a stay at home mom and help my husband with his business. During this change, I found out that Motherhood is truly the coolest job out there and with what I like to call my fashion instincts I make a daily effort to look and feel my best while doing it!

I’m a HUGE believer in living by the 80/20 rule, which means, I live a healthy and balanced lifestyle, while still enjoying moderate indulgences. So let’s get fit and have some fun!!
XOXO,
Angel

I wish we lived closer! It would be fun to do the workouts together! I started my own Business- Fitness Diva, and I have similar take on fitness and nutrition as you do. I tend to share a lot of your stuff on FB with my fans on my Page. LOVE it! Keep up the great work! thank-you!

Hello! I stumble upon ur Facebook page and now am so glad to read ur blog. I love that you posted ur meal plan I think that’s so helpful and definitely something everyone is interested in. You have a beautiful family and I look forward to more useful tips, thank you !
Thank you!
Hello Angel,
Love your blog and all the pictures! You make this all look so easy, any tips? I would love to make healthier and nasty meals for my family and I but between working, being a mom, recovering from injuries and helping to take care of my dad with cancer it seems almost impossible. Thank you so much !
Hi Wendy,
Thank you for the kind words and I’m so sorry to hear about your dad, my prayers are with you & your family.
If there’s one thing I would really recommend that makes days easy – is food prep. If you are able to pick a day that you can spend 1-2 hours to cut up veggies, fruit, boil eggs, bake chicken etc…for the rest of the week I think that would really help you out. Also make some quick snack bags, of portioned controlled nuts so you always have on hand in a jiffy!
XOXOXOXO,
Angel
Hi Angel,
just found your blog and love it!!!
Thank you & Welcome!!!
Hi Angel,
I found either your blog or Instagram last month. I’m not sure which was first. You’ve become a daily inspiration to help me as I hit one year of maintaining this healthier and stronger version of me. My kids love to share in deciding which recipes or activities we’ll try based on your photos. Thanks for your dedication to helping others. I typically don’t contact bloggers so you never know how many lives you positively affect.
Thank you for your kind words and welcome! I love hearing from my readers, makes me feel like I’m not talking to myself!

I’m so inspired by your story. I just gave birth to my son five weeks ago and need to lose about ten to twelve more pounds. How did you do it when your cute daughter was a newborn? Or did you start getting back into shape a few months after. I had a c-section and need to wait 6 weeks to begin exercise…I can’t wait. How do you eat every 2.5/3 hours with the little one? Do you prep. all you meals for the day ahead of time . I’m just not sure how to get on the healthy trak when the little guy takes up a lot of my time and I’m very much sleep deprived. Can’t wait until he wakes up only once or twice a night.
. I’m currently feeling like a chicken with its head cut off and running all over the place! Lol.
Nikki
Hi Nikki! Thank you for writing. After my daughter was born, I walked a lot. Once I got the Okay from my dr. after the 6 weeks, I started ‘actually’ exercising by doing stationary bike, elliptical, pilates and light weights. It takes time too lose the weight but you’ll lose it!
I definitely try and do food prep every few days to make it easier on myself. Example, baking chicken breasts and sweet potatoes in bulk that way you have them ready to go. Cut veggies & fruit ahead of time. Boil hard boiled eggs twice a week. One of my 5-6 meals is always a protein shake, post workout so that’s an easy one.
Just keep at it, you’ll get it. It just takes awhile to get use to life with a precious baby!
I am happy to see you pursuing your passions and inspiring others! Thank you for sharing! I also love that you call your dog you “fur baby.” My hubby and I have a few “fur babies” of our own and they keep us active and healthy and happy! We’re still waiting for a real baby, hehe!
Hi Angel. It is very nice to meet you. I am a newbie. I am looking forward to reading ur blog. That extra motivation does really help. Thank you for putting your story on line.
Thank you & Welcome!!
Love your blog!! I am curious if you count calories or not? Would love to know, thanks =)
I don’t do it everyday. I do it every once in awhile to just double check I’m staying on point. My main focus is making sure to “eat clean” and drinking lots of water.
Love your personality and attitude toward life. I used to be severely out of shape when I was younger, and eventually I had enough. Today I’m a competitive bodybuilder with a passion for nutrition & fitness and advocate of a healthy lifestyle for everyone I know. I’m about to leave my career in the computer field to go back to school full time to get my degree in Nutrition, get my Registered Dietician certification, while doing personal training and other nutrition/fitness related things. No more cubicles for me!! My goal is to become a professor of Nutrition and pass the knowledge to as many people as possible. Keep doing what you’re doing, all the best!!
-Mike
