V-Day Dinner

V-Day Dinner

Happy Valentines day to all of you!  I hope you will be surrounded with lots of love today & always.

Tonight we’ll be celebrating Valentine’s Day at home with our baby girl so with that said, last night I ran over to Costco to buy a couple of lobster tails to prepare a special dinner for tonight.  Since this is my first time cooking them, I started checking out a bunch of recipes online and finally decided to go with this recipe, or a version of it since I have no chives! :(  I haven’t decided on the sides yet but I do have green beans, asparagus and broccoli so I’m sure one (if not all) of these will be thrown in the mix. ;)

Another thing, we’ll be enjoying is this Asti Spumante from Trader Joe’s.  It’s sweet, sparkling and only $6.99 – can’t beat that deal!! :)

Will there be dessert??? Of course, there will be dessert!!!!! :)

Here’s what I have planned…

Dark Chocolate dipped strawberries for my honey and drizzled dark strawberries for me! ;)

Annnd the fun doesn’t stop there… ;)

Dark Chocolate Almond Hearts – Take 2 raw almonds and pour dark chocolate over them.  Once the chocolate cools, take a knife and cut around the edges in a shape of a heart.

Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter & Banana Sandwiches – banana slices with a smidge of peanut butter to hold the two banana slices together and dark chocolate poured over the banana sandwich.

Saturday will be our ‘adult’ V-Day celebration! We have a babysitter set-up and the hubs & I are going wine tasting and I’ll be packing a ‘semi-healthy’ picnic to take along with us!  I’ll share the deets on my picnic treats with you Saturday morning. :)

Question: Do you go out on Valentines Day or stay in?

XOXO,

Angel

Well, since Valentine’s Day is also our Anniversary we do have a bit of fun on that day.. If it falls during the week, we always get take out and I run out and buy dessert ( our fave cupcake place usually ) and then go out to a nice restaurant on the weekend.. Since this year this is our 25th wedding anniversary, we decided to spend the money redoing the inside of our house and enjoying shopping for all new stuff for our home.. We still will head out and have a nice meal somewhere, but for today we will again get take out and enjoy our anniversary together, just us two…
